Dear Maintainer,
The invocation of epubcheck is broken on my systems.
The error message is:
/bin/epubcheck: line 1: $'PK\003\004': command not found
/bin/epubcheck: line 8: syntax error near unexpected token `('
/bin/epubcheck: line 8: `&'gsgٚqمlTDE

[...]
The jdk in use is:
openjdk 25.0.4.1 2026-08-18 LTS
OpenJDK Runtime Environment Temurin-25.0.4.1+1 (build 25.0.4.1+1-LTS)
OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM Temurin-25.0.4.1+1 (build 25.0.4.1+1-LTS, mixed mode, sharing)
I can mitigate the problem in 2 ways:
1. Calling it without *jarwrapper*: java -jar /usr/share/java/epubcheck.jar
2. Using *jarwrapper* 0.82 from forky.
I **can't* mitigate the problem:
- Using openjdk-25 from Debian trixie-security
openjdk 25.0.4.1 2026-08-18
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (build 25.0.4.1+1-1-deb13u1-Debian)
OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.0.4.1+1-1-deb13u1-Debian, mixed mode, sharing)
- Removing both openjdk-25 and temurin-25installation and using openjdk-21 from trixie.
openjdk 21.0.12.1 2026-08-18
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (build 21.0.12.1+1-1-deb13u1-Debian)
OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 21.0.12.1+1-1-deb13u1-Debian, mixed mode, sharing)
Suggestion:
Please backport javarwapper 0.82 from forky to trixie.
