from 2025-10-12.  It has no reverse dependencies in Debian unstable, see
dak output at the end of this e-mail.

The upstream project was archived in 2018:

https://github.com/nebulouslabs/merkletree
   The merkletree repository has moved to GitLab.
https://gitlab.com/NebulousLabs/merkletree

And its go.mod uses the new namespace, so if needed it should be
packaged separately.

This removal request is part of a larger batch to remove 100+ unused
golang-*-dev packages from Debian.  I believe the QA cost associated
with keeping all of them is larger than the cost of (hopefully extremely
rare) re-introduction of any accidentally removed package if there is
ever any future need for it.  Meanwhile, I don't think it is useful to
keep this package in Debian.
