Comments/Problems:
I've been having trouble trying to make a dual boot system out of my
Windows 10 machine.
I've been using the automatic hardware and network detection, and the
guided partitioning, using the largest empty space with all files in
one partition.
Disk 0 Partition 3 and Disk 0 Partition 4 are created by
debian-installer before it breaks. I've had to reopen Windows and
delete those before each installation attempt.
Partway through installing the base system my monitor loses signal.
Section 5.4.4. of https://www.debian.org/releases/stable/amd64/
mentions that "vga=normal nomodeset" could possibly help with a black
screen, but this didn't work. I assume the passage meant that the
monitor was receiving an invalid signal, not no signal at all, but I
thought it was worth trying.
I've tried both the graphical and text based installer and encountered
this problem.
I've tried installing the latest Nvidia drivers but that didn't help.
