Dear mentors,

I am the maintainer of libvisual-plugins and am looking for a sponsor
for this German translation update:

  * Package name     : libvisual-plugins
    Version          : 1:0.4.2+dfsg-5
  * URL              : https://github.com/Libvisual/libvisual
  * Vcs              : https://salsa.debian.org/debian/libvisual-plugins
  * Section          : sound

It builds this binary package:

  libvisual-0.4-plugins - audio visualization framework plugins

The signed source package is available at:
https://mentors.debian.net/package/libvisual-plugins/

Download the source package with:

  dget -x https://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/libv/libvisual-plugins/libvisual-plugins_0.4.2+dfsg-5.dsc

Packaging review:
https://salsa.debian.org/debian/libvisual-plugins/-/merge_requests/4

Upstream submission:
https://github.com/Libvisual/libvisual/pull/428

This is a small follow-up to the adoption upload already in testing.
It addresses #1033190 by reconciling Chris Leick's older German catalog
submission with 0.4.2, preserving the existing translations and current
format specifiers. It completes the debug input description, corrects the
Bumpscope name, and updates translation and copyright metadata. Chris's
translator credit is retained; the new changes are recorded under my name.

The fix is carried as a quilt patch with a Forwarded link to upstream.
It changes no plugin code, API/ABI, dependencies, or plugin selection.
No change to the separate libvisual source package is required.

Validation completed locally:

  * source package build and unstable amd64 sbuild: PASS;
  * installed-plugin autopkgtest: PASS, including eight headless actors;
  * German catalog: 109 translated messages, no fuzzy/untranslated entries;
  * installed .mo verified against the patched .po; negative control fails
    as expected with the unmodified -4 catalog;
  * Lintian 2.141.0: no errors or warnings, only existing
    pedantic/experimental tags (compat 13, upstream OpenPGP checking,
    and the pre-existing English "Transparant" spelling).

Salsa CI status: the pipeline is not fully green.

Pipeline #1168693 completed with 10 successful jobs out of 11, including
amd64, i386 and source builds, autopkgtest, piuparts, blhc, debrebuild and
uscan:
https://salsa.debian.org/debian/libvisual-plugins/-/pipelines/1168693

The only failed job is Lintian. The CI image cannot load Params::Util
("Can't locate Params/Util.pm in @INC") and aborts before package analysis.
The job log is here:
https://salsa.debian.org/debian/libvisual-plugins/-/jobs/10297014

The same Lintian version, 2.141.0, completes the checks locally with no
errors or warnings. I have kept the tested source package unchanged on
mentors rather than adding a package-specific workaround for the CI image.
No CI checks have been disabled or made optional. I am reporting this
failure explicitly and would welcome your review of the existing candidate.

Changes since the last upload:

  libvisual-plugins (1:0.4.2+dfsg-5) unstable; urgency=medium
  .
    * Reconcile the German translation update from Chris Leick with the
      current catalog, preserving the 0.4.2 strings and format specifiers.
      Complete the debug input description, correct the Bumpscope name and
      update the translation metadata. (Closes: #1033190)

Simon, I have copied you following your suggestion to use an RFS for
future sponsorship requests. Thank you again for sponsoring the adoption.

Best regards,
Federico Molara

Downloaded and built successfully, thanks!

Merged, feel free to push directly to the debian/master branch next time.

Thank you for also submitting it upstream, and for the DEP-3 header on your patch!

LGTM. Please consider upgrading the package to debhelper-compat 14. Thanks for being thorough!

This is a known issue that should have been fixed already. Let's ignore it for now. Lintian works okay for me locally, too.

And, done:
