#1147979 libssc-tests fails to coinstall

libssc-tests is declared Multi-Arch: same, but fails to coinstall.

The file /usr/libexec/installed-tests/libssc/ssc-server is shared by
libssc-tests version 0.4.4-2 as present in forky|unstable with varying
content.

Please ensure that shared files have bit-identical content across
architectures, move architecture-dependent files to
architecture-dependent paths or remove the Multi-Arch: same field.

Kind regards

Hi,

the only file that differs between architectures is
/usr/libexec/installed-tests/libssc/ssc-server. It is generated by
configure_file() in mocking/ssc_server/meson.build with
LIBSSC_MOCKING_PYTHON_BUILD_PATH set to the build root, so the installed
script carries the build directory:

  -sys.path.insert(0, '/build/reproducible-path/libssc-0.4.4/obj-x86_64-linux-gnu/mocking')
  +sys.path.insert(0, '/build/reproducible-path/libssc-0.4.4/obj-aarch64-linux-gnu/mocking')

All other files in libssc-tests 0.4.4-2 are identical on amd64 and arm64.
Installing both with dpkg fails with "trying to overwrite shared
'/usr/libexec/installed-tests/libssc/ssc-server', which is different
from other instances of package libssc-tests:arm64".

Nothing needs the installed tests for more than one architecture at
once, so the attached patch just drops Multi-Arch: same from
libssc-tests. I built it in a clean sid amd64 chroot: the build and all
7 tests pass, and the resulting libssc-tests has no Multi-Arch field.

(Separately, and not needed for this bug: the installed copy of
ssc-server has no use for the build path at all; upstream could
generate a second, installed variant without it.)

libssc is due to be removed from testing on 2026-10-29, which would also
remove iio-sensor-proxy and meta-plasma-mobile, so an upload soon would
be appreciated.

Disclosure: I prepared the analysis and the patch with the help of an
AI assistant (Claude, by Anthropic); the testing is the one described
above.

Thanks,
