A new upstream major release of GNOME Shell is available in
experimental, and as usual, all GNOME Shell extensions will need updates
to be compatible with the new version.

When the rest of the necessary packages are ready and the release team
gives the go-ahead to do the transition, bug reports like this one will
be raised to serious. If extensions aren't compatible with the new GNOME
Shell, they'll have to be removed from testing temporarily.

Ubuntu has a patch for this. It seems that real code changes are not
needed this time, and updating the metadata is sufficient:
