This module is a transitive dependency of github.com/shirou/gopsutil (already in
Debian). It is required to build gopsutil's reverse dependencies -- such as the
OpenTelemetry Collector -- under the module-aware dh-go build system, in which
the whole module graph must resolve locally even for platform-specific code
(here, AIX, via cgo against libperfstat) that is never compiled on Debian's
architectures. The packaging carries one DEP-3 patch constraining the AIX-only
cgo helper (c_helpers.c/.h) to the "aix" build tag so "go list" succeeds on
Debian's build architectures.

Still looking for a sponsor for this one. It is a small, source-only module (an AIX-only interface to libperfstat, shipped with a small //go:build aix patch, not built on any Debian architecture).

It unblocks the dh-go (module-aware) ports of two packages that require it in their module graph via gopsutil/v4. golang-opentelemetry-collector builds green locally with dh-go 1.69 and this package installed. golang-github-googlecloudplatform-opentelemetry-operations-go also blocks on it: its branch upgrade-0.62.0 lists it as a real Build-Depends and its sbuild against sid on 2026-10-06 (dh-go 1.69, collector-dev 0.152.0-1) was Status successful, 11 test packages, 206 PASS, 0 FAIL (https://salsa.debian.org/go-team/packages/golang-github-googlecloudplatform-opentelemetry-operations-go/-/merge_requests/1).

golang-github-shirou-gopsutil's go.mod requires it as well, so it will be needed when gopsutil moves to dh-go.
