Hello,

This package is set for auto removal from testing (#1147799) and I want to ask to remove it from unstable as well.

This is a CLI utility to interface with bigger framework called Phabricator which has been discontinued.
From https://github.com/phacility/phabricator  Effective June 1, 2021: Phabricator is no longer actively maintained.

I believe this package should not be fixed and it is not suitable for the next Debian release.

Please remove package: src:python-phabricator and it's binaries (version: 0.9.1-0.1) from testing and unstable.

Thanks very much for your support.

Hi Hector,

I'm afraid we need to fix bugwarrior first before FTP Masters will
allow this removal.

Greetings

Alexandre

Nice catch! I see Jochen has dropped from uploaders, hence replacing
him by package team email alias.

bugwarrior is also scheduled for autoremoval (October 12th) affected
by RC bugs similar issue as python-phabricator (pkg_resources removal)

I have tested a build of this patch against stable, since unstable
does not build, and it is building fine without python-phabricator.

I have pushed a MR for review you can find at
https://salsa.debian.org/tasktools-team/bugwarrior/-/merge_requests/2

Find debdiff to disable python-phabricator from package build:

Hi again

I do not have the time to upgrade this package properly right now,
so instead I just vendored the whole pkg_resources.py

I included your changes, thank you.

I have moved team email alias to Bcc, to avoid further spamming.

Thanks for your new bugwarrior release, unless there are further issues,
ftp-master team should be good to remove this package from unstable at
their best convenience time, while we wait for release team autoremoval
removes it from testing.

Thanks all for your help with this.

We believe that the bug you reported is now fixed; the following
package(s) have been removed from unstable:

python-phabricator | 0.9.1-0.1 | source
python3-phabricator | 0.9.1-0.1 | all
------------------- Reason ------------------- ROM; obsolete, inactive upstream ---------------------------------------------- Note that the package(s) have simply been removed from the tag database and may (or may not) still be in the pool; this is not a bug. The package(s) will be physically removed automatically when no suite references them (and in the case of source, when no binary references it). Please also remember that the changes have been done on the master archive and will not propagate to any mirrors until the next dinstall run at the earliest. Packages are usually not removed from testing by hand. Testing tracks unstable and will automatically remove packages which were removed from unstable when removing them from testing causes no dependency problems. The release team can force a removal from testing if it is really needed, please contact them if this should be the case. We try to close bugs which have been reported against this package automatically. But please check all old bugs, if they were closed correctly or should have been re-assigned to another package. Thank you for reporting the bug, which will now be closed. If you have further comments please address them to 1148837@bugs.debian.org. The full log for this bug can be viewed at https://bugs.debian.org/1148837 This message was generated automatically; if you believe that there is a problem with it please contact the archive administrators by mailing ftpmaster@ftp-master.debian.org.
