The following vulnerability was published for libical3.

CVE-2026-88383[0]:
| libical 4.0.6 contains an incompatible function pointer in
| icalparameter_string_to_kind(). When parsing iCalendar data
| containing a parameterized property, the function passes
| icalparameter_compare_kind_map() to bsearch() through an
| incompatible comparator function pointer type. bsearch() invokes the
| callback through the mismatched type, resulting in undefined
| behavior and process termination, leading to denial of service.


If you fix the vulnerability please also make sure to include the
CVE (Common Vulnerabilities & Exposures) id in your changelog entry.

I'm glad that this CVE is for a release for a package not in debían yet.

libical 4.0.6 isn't officially released by upstream and packaging libical 4.0.5 is still a work in progress.
