Hi!
While rebuilding the python related packages against the Python 3.15rc2
version we found that sardana fails to build from source:
https://debusine.debian.net/debian/r-python-python3.15/artifact/4857628/
From the log, the error seems to be:
File
"/build/reproducible-path/sardana-3.5.1/src/sardana/sardanadefs.py",
line 32, in <module>
from taurus.core.util.enumeration import Enumeration
File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/taurus/core/__init__.py",
line 87, in <module>
from .taurusattribute import * # noqa: F403,F401
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
File
"/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/taurus/core/taurusattribute.py", line
39, in <module>
from taurus.core.units import Quantity
File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/taurus/core/units.py", line
35, in <module>
from pkg_resources import parse_version as __parse_version
ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'pkg_resources'
While we ran into this error during the rebuild against Python 3.15, the
reproducible builds infrastructure is also running into this issue:
https://tests.reproducible-builds.org/debian/rb-pkg/unstable/amd64/sardana.html
Thus, this is not a new problem and it should be solved right away.
Setting the severity to Serious.
