When I try to launch flightgear, I get an error dialog with the title

If I click the "OK" button, the launcher window's UI is blank.

I have the same problem, not caused by any change in the flightgear
package but caused by "aptitude update"; I run testing.

During this update I noticed the package
qml6-module-qt-labs-assetdownloader, which was newly flagged as
"obsolete or locally created" in aptitude.  I deleted this package,
nothing depended on it.  But now I suspect that flightgear did indeed
depend on it, indirectly.  I tried re-installing this package but I can
no longer find it.

which seems to be the same, and is fixed in flightgear 2024.1.7.  Maybe
packaging the new version would solve the problem?

Maybe my earlier email was not explicit or detailed enough.  The
"aptitude update" I referred to, performed on 2026-10-06, updated the
qt6 packages but not flightgear.  This caused the flightgear launcher to
stop working and instead show a blank page and an error message box as
described.

I resorted to passing all parameters to fgfs on the command line to
select aircraft, airport, aircraft and TerraSync directories etc.  Only
the launcher is affected.

Finally, I have been able to find qml6-module-qt-labs-assetdownloader
again and reinstall it but this did not repair the FlightGear launcher.

flightgear is notably absent and its launcher worked without a problem
before the update.  The Qt6 packages are primary suspects.
