Current stable (trixie) plasma-workspace is 6.3.6-2. Spectacle screen recording fails because kpipewire cannot create any encoder: the NVIDIA VAAPI driver (nvidia_drv_video.so) fails to initialize, and the Intel iHD fallback does not support the required encoding entrypoints. Software encoders (libx264, libvpx, libopenh264) are also unavailable due to Debian's FFmpeg build configuration.

This is KDE Bug 512429, fixed in Spectacle 6.4.6+. Testing/unstable already has 6.7.4-2.

Please consider backporting the relevant fix to trixie-backports, or at least updating spectacle/kpipewire to a version that includes the fix, so stable users can record their screen again.
