Dear Maintainer,
Under debian 13 trixie running a KDE plasma wayland session, /usr/gmes is not automatically appended to the user's environment $PATH. As a result, all classical games installed from the official repositories into /usr/games fail to launch via their .desktop menu shortcuts, throwing executable not found errors, unless the user manually adds the directory to ~/.config/environment.d/ This path was historically available by default in X11 sessions and its absense breaks desktop integration for the entire games section

is a bug in base-files?

Unless you changed it, you can find the /usr/games directory in both
/etc/profile and /etc/login.defs, but only for regular users (as it's
proper).

Are you trying to execute those games under the root user maybe?
