This revision upgrades debhelper-compat from 13 to 14, following Simon's
review of the previous upload. It explicitly enables the single-binary
sequence and moves the existing installation steps to before/after hooks.
The German catalog is still regenerated, including with nocheck, and
libtool .la files are still removed.

It also records Applied-Upstream for the German translation patch:

Upstream merged it into 0.4.x on 3 October. The patch itself remains needed
with the current 0.4.2 tarball; its content has not changed.

There are no plugin code, translation, API/ABI, runtime dependency or
plugin selection changes. The separate libvisual package is untouched.
The accepted -5 source remains unchanged. There is no CI-specific
workaround, and no check has been disabled or made optional.

Validation on current unstable:

  * source build, amd64 sbuild and installed-plugin autopkgtest: PASS;
  * normal and nocheck packages, including dbgsym: byte-identical;
  * comparison against -5 rebuilt with the same toolchain: unchanged runtime
    dependencies, paths, permissions, catalogs and allocated ELF sections
    (excluding build IDs); still 13 actors, 5 inputs and 4 morphs;
  * installed German catalog: 109 translations, no fuzzy/untranslated entries;
  * Lintian 2.142.0: no errors or warnings, only existing experimental tags.

Salsa CI for the exact candidate commit: all 11 required jobs PASS,
including amd64/i386/source builds, Lintian, autopkgtest, piuparts, blhc,
debrebuild and uscan:

For transparency, the mentors package page reports these additional
Lintian diagnostics:

  * W: missing-debian-watch-file-standard [debian/watch];
  * W: recommended-field: Priority in the source stanza;
  * P: package-uses-experimental-debhelper-compat-version: 14.

These diagnostics are not reproduced by the local Lintian 2.142.0 check;
the Salsa Lintian job also passes. No overrides were added to suppress
them. I have verified that the signed .dsc and both tarballs published on
mentors are byte-identical to the local candidate checked above.

The candidate is on debian/master at
e34e1fc6b77cacc47ed77b5ed32d89f618cf9a7d. No Debian release tag has been
created; I will wait for ACCEPTED before tagging.

Simon, I have copied you as suggested for sponsorship requests. This is
the compat 14 work previously prepared locally, now finalized and retested.

For debhelper 14, you can drop this line from debian/control, as it's automatically filled in now:

Depends: ${shlibs:Depends}, ${misc:Depends}

The debdiff otherwise looks good to me. Please do let me know once that change is made (and remove the moreinfo tag), and I'll be happy to sponsor.

Depends: ${shlibs:Depends}, ${misc:Depends}
line from debian/control and documented the change in the changelog.

The revised 1:0.4.2+dfsg-6 source is now signed and available on mentors:

Mentors confirmed the replacement upload at 16:07 UTC on 10 October.
I verified its signature and that the published .dsc and both tarballs
are byte-identical to the tested, signed local candidate.

The new amd64 sbuild and installed-plugin autopkgtest pass. The generated
binary Depends field is identical to the previous -6 candidate on both
amd64 and i386, confirming that debhelper supplies the substitutions
automatically. Local Lintian 2.142.0 reports no errors or warnings for the
revised source and binaries.

Salsa CI is green: all 11 required jobs pass, including amd64/i386 builds,
Lintian, autopkgtest, piuparts, blhc, debrebuild and uscan:

For transparency, mentors now also reports debhelper-but-no-misc-depends,
in addition to the previously disclosed watch, Priority and compat tags.
This is consistent with the older-check false positives documented for
compat 14 automatic dependency substitutions (Lintian support: #1067653).
The generated binary dependencies were checked on both architectures;
no overrides were added.

The version remains 1:0.4.2+dfsg-6; this replaces the candidate awaiting
sponsorship. I have not created the release tag.
