this is just an heads-up: FreeCAD is currently preparing a MR to move to
zipios++ version 2 [1].

dak told me earlier today that beside FreeCAD, src:enigma is also using
zipios. Looking at enigma upstream, they have removed zipios in the
meantime (but haven't cut a release without zipios)

So, it sounds feasible to start the transition once FreeCAD has moved :)

What do you think?

Indeed, this is a very good news and I'm happy to move forward with this 6 years
old transition :-)

I guess we should wait for enigma package upload (I can help of course) and
FreeCAD upstream update before upgrading Zipios?

And I can see that FreeCAD is hitting the blocking issue I detected about
some missing features in the new Zipios API [1].
Let's track how it evolves.

As FreeCAD upstream "ETA'ed" the change for only Februrary 2027
soonest, I think this will be relevant only after Forky has been
released. So …

… let's see how things unfold!
