Dear mentors,

I am looking for a sponsor for my package "slayer-editor":

  * Package name     : slayer-editor
    Version          : 0.4.1-1
    Upstream contact : Wyllian Bezerra da Silva <wyllianbs@gmail.com>
  * URL              : https://github.com/wyllianbs/SE
  * License          : GPL-3.0-or-later, Expat, CC0-1.0
  * Vcs              : https://github.com/wyllianbs/SE
    Section          : editors

The source builds the following binary package:

   slayer-editor - lightweight code editor with an embedded terminal

To access further information about this package, please visit:

   https://mentors.debian.net/package/slayer-editor/

Alternatively, you can download the package with 'dget' using this command:

   dget -x
https://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/s/slayer-editor/slayer-editor_0.4.1-1.dsc

slayer-editor is a Qt 6 code editor with an embedded terminal (QTermWidget),
F5 compile-and-run for several languages, LSP diagnostics/completion and a
DAP debugger. It closes ITP #1150574.

This is my first package and I am looking for a sponsor. The package is
lintian-clean and uses the system fonts (fonts-hack, fonts-jetbrains-mono);
only the Symbols Nerd Font used for the toolbar glyph icons is bundled,
as it
is not available in Debian. Feedback is very welcome.

Regards,
Wyllian Bezerra da Silva

I have uploaded a new revision, slayer-editor 0.4.2-1, to mentors:

   dget -x
https://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/s/slayer-editor/slayer-editor_0.4.2-1.dsc

Changes since 0.4.1-1: dragging a file onto the editor now opens it in a
new tab instead of inserting its path as text.

Thanks,
Wyllian

Dear mentors,

I have uploaded a new packaging revision, slayer-editor 0.4.2-2, to mentors:

   dget -x
https://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/s/slayer-editor/slayer-editor_0.4.2-2.dsc

Change since 0.4.2-1: the package now recommends gdb and python3-debugpy,
used by the Debug Adapter Protocol debugger for C/C++ and Python.

Thanks,
Wyllian

Dear mentors,

I have uploaded a new upstream revision, slayer-editor 0.4.3-1, to mentors.
It fixes a crash when opening an empty file, and adds inline (ghost-text)
completion, matching block-delimiter highlighting, an "enable auto reload"
action on the disk-change bar, and dropping files on the welcome screen.

   dget -x
https://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/s/slayer-editor/slayer-editor_0.4.3-1.dsc

Thanks,
Wyllian

Dear mentors,

I have uploaded a new version of my package "slayer-editor" to
mentors.debian.net and I am still looking for a sponsor.

  * Package name     : slayer-editor
    Version          : 0.4.4-1
    Upstream author  : Wyllian Bezerra da Silva <wyllianbs@gmail.com>
  * URL              : https://github.com/wyllianbs/SE
  * License          : GPL-3.0-or-later
    Section          : editors

It builds this binary package:

   slayer-editor - lightweight code editor with an embedded terminal

To access further information about this package, please visit:

   https://mentors.debian.net/package/slayer-editor/

Alternatively, you can download the package with dget:

   dget -x
https://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/s/slayer-editor/slayer-editor_0.4.4-1.dsc

Full description of the package:

   Slayer Editor is a Qt 6 code editor with tabs, syntax highlighting,
   auto-indentation, auto-closing pairs, find/replace and several color
   themes. An embedded terminal (QTermWidget) can be docked on any edge
   of the window or detached. Press F5 to compile and run the current
   file: C, C++, Python, Rust, Go, JavaScript, Java and shell scripts.
   It also offers Language Server Protocol diagnostics and inline
   completion, Debug Adapter Protocol debugging, a Kate-style split view,
   a code minimap, and a live HTML preview with automatic reload.

Packaging notes:

   * Source format 3.0 (quilt), non-native.
   * debhelper-compat 13, dh with the cmake buildsystem,
     Rules-Requires-Root: no, Standards-Version 4.7.4.
   * The upstream Qt test suite runs at build time (override_dh_auto_test
     with QT_QPA_PLATFORM=offscreen).
   * lintian -IE --pedantic is clean, except the usual
     newer-standards-version note for 4.7.4.
   * Copyright follows DEP-5. The editor is GPL-3.0-or-later. One font,
     Symbols Nerd Font Mono (Expat), is shipped in the Qt resource to
     draw the UI glyph icons; the Hack and JetBrains Mono Nerd fonts are
     no longer bundled (fonts-hack is a dependency and
     fonts-jetbrains-mono is recommended instead). The metainfo file is
     CC0-1.0.
   * Dependencies: the binary depends on the Qt 6 runtime (via shlibs)
     and fonts-hack. build-essential, gdb, python3, python3-debugpy and
     qt6-translations-l10n are Recommends (used to compile/debug and for
     translations); the optional language runtimes (rustc, golang-go,
     nodejs, default-jdk, and php-cli for the HTML preview) are Suggests.

Changes in this upload (0.4.4-1):

   * Syntax highlighting for HTML, CSS, JSON, XML, Markdown and other
     markup/config formats.
   * A live HTML preview with automatic reload, served either by a small
     built-in HTTP server or by an external one (e.g. PHP); php-cli is
     added to Suggests and Qt 6 Network to the dependencies.
   * A code minimap, indentation guides, and indentation of wrapped lines.
   * Auto-close of HTML/XML tags, a Ctrl+/ comment toggle for markup,
     an Open Recent menu and an optional auto-save.
   * Bug fixes: the editor no longer freezes while editing HTML, and the
     preview server now serves asynchronously so it never blocks the UI.

This is still the initial Debian release (Closes: #1150574). I am the
upstream author and will maintain the package.

Thank you very much for your time and for considering sponsoring it.

Regards,
Wyllian Bezerra da Silva

     word-wrapped document.

   * debian/changelog keeps a single entry, since the package has not
     been in the archive yet.

Changes in this upload (0.4.6-1):

- Much faster theme switching and file opening on large files (no more
   multi-second freeze).
- View ▸ Dark Mode (Ctrl+Shift+D) switches the theme to its light/dark
variant.
- Focus on run (View menu and Settings ▸ Terminal): terminal only when the
   program waits for input (default), always the terminal, or the editor.
- Selecting text highlights its other occurrences.
- Debugging uses the same terminal tab as Run; the step buttons and the
   debugger panel appear only during a session.
- Breakpoints only for languages the debugger supports (Python, C, C++).
- The terminal button is a plain show/hide toggle.
- Preview: cross-origin isolation (COOP/COEP) on by default.
- The automatic interface language follows LANGUAGE/LC_MESSAGES/LANG;
   complete pt_BR translation.
- Removed the leftover Flatpak support: the editor is distributed as a
Debian
   package.

This is still the initial Debian release (Closes: #1150574). I am the
upstream author and will maintain the package.

Hi Juan,

Thank you for taking the time to look at it, that is fair feedback.

There is already an unofficial APT repository, so users can install
and test the editor today:

   https://wyllianbs.github.io/slayer-apt

I have also submitted it to extrepo, where it is currently under
review.

I agree the project is still young. I will slow down the release
pace, aim for a stable 1.0 and let it gather users and feedback
through that repository first. I will keep the RFS open and update
it when there is a stable release; if you or other sponsors prefer,
I can close it for now and open a new one later.

Thanks again,
Wyllian
