Dear Maintainer,

I am experiencing an issue with the clipboard history widget where pasting from
history stops working.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Copy some text.
2. Copy some other text.
3. Press Super+V to open the clipboard history.
4. Initially, this works as expected.
5. At some point, the feature stops working properly.
6. When selecting an item from the history menu to paste, it does not paste the
selected item when pressing Ctrl+V.
