Hi all.
I've been testing with the Debian package of lxqt-config,
and I noticed that the Appearance configurator wasn't
showing my installed icon themes. It looked exactly
like https://github.com/lxqt/lxqt-config/issues/1188
(screencaps), which has been marked as fixed upstream by
https://github.com/lxqt/lxqt-config/pull/1189 and is noted as fixed in
upstream's changelog:
However, I'm now running 2.4.0, which supposedly contains this fix, but
my icons list is still blank. I'm wondering whether Debian's patches or
upstream's work between 2.3.2 and 2.4 have regressed this.
I'm also wondering what's going on with this output, given my
lxqt-config package's apparent dependencies on Qt 6.11:
----------8<-----------
$ lxqt-config --version
lxqt-config 2.4.0
liblxqt 2.4.0
Qt 6.10.2 ← 👀
---------->8-----------

I see a similar issue in lxqt-panel's icon theme override
setting: "Configure Panel → Styling → Icon theme for panels". The
workaround to both is to edit the following files and change the icon
theme manually: it then works just fine, and the chosen theme gets
rendered in Qt, Gtk, and lxqt-panel.
$ sensible-editor ~/.config/lxqt/lxqt.conf
$ sensible-editor ~/.config/lxqt/panel.conf
I have Debian papirus-icon-theme and oxygen-icon-theme installed,
and I still get the same regression. I think those are the ones that
LXQt packages recommend. I do have some overrides and additions in
~/.local/share/icons normally, and a developer install of Papirus in
/usr/local/stow linked in /usr/local/share/icons, but like I say, this
affects Oxygen too. Moving my personal overrides out of the way and
re-running lxqt-config does not fix this.
regards,
Andrew
