Dear maintainers,
upstream maintainer here.
I prepared a new point release [1]. I would like to recommend to accept it not
only in "unstable" but also in the "stable" branch of Debian GNU/Linux.
It is a fix-only release. I tried to keep the modifcations as small as possible
to prevent introducing new bugs. Beside the technical details you can find in
the commit history [2] and changelog [3] let me summarize the modifications
from a users perspective.
1. One of the rules to automatically prune old backups ("Remove backups oder
than") never worked. This would increase the storage usage on the users backup
destination.
2. Additionally the dialog to setup that rules ("Remove & Retention") didn't
store the values propertly and corrupted the config file. This release will
auto-repair the config file.
3. "Local encrypted" profiles (using gocryptfs) now show a clear warning in the
GUI (see screenshot in release notes). The detailes are described here [4], but
in short: I need to re-write the mount handling again (in the next major
release 2.0.0). This might cause that "local encrpyted" backups from 1.6.2 are
not accessible anymore in 2.0.0 without a migration. I plan to provide such a
migration path along the 2.0.0 release. But at the current point I can not
gurantee it. To spare my users trouble, I recommend them not to use that mode
if possible.
4. Fixing a crash after adding a SSH host to the known_hosts file.
5. Copyright/Author for "qt/serviceHelper.py" changed.
5. Several minor adjustments described in changelog.
That release become kind of urguent after I realized that the upcoming major
release need to be postponed. And some of the issues can't wait anymore until
the major release.
