Dear Maintainer,
* What led up to the situation?
libsimdutf35 update
* What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
ineffective)?
rolling back to verison 9.1.2-1 fixes the problem
When trying to launch tilix you get an error libsimdutf.so.35: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory.
I believe the issue here is the newer package installs libsimdutf.so.37
Hi A rebuild of libvte-2.91-0 is required. Holger...
Yes I see that now Holger, looks like an update to the package is incoming that will fix it. Anyone reading this bug should go here; https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1150986 this bug is the root issue.
This was a bug in libsimdutf35 that affected tilix, not a bug in tilix,
so I'm closing the tilix bug report.
No, rebuilding vte would have hidden the symptom, but then broken it
again when the ABI break in libsimdutf was reverted. When a coordinated
libsimdutf35 -> libsimdutf37 transition happens, *then* vte will be
rebuilt as part of that.
