Description : cue-based media playback and show control for live video

Deckboy is a cue deck for theatre, live events, worship and broadcast.
Clips,
stills, slides, web pages, cameras, windows on the machine, network streams
and generated test patterns sit on one cue list with one transport, the same
fades and transitions, an effect rack and remote control (OSC, MIDI, MIDI
Show
Control, Art-Net, LTC). The programme goes to screens, SRT/RTMP streams and
SMPTE ST 2110, several at once, while it records.

The source also builds deckboy-mini, a single-deck player for a screen that
only needs to play, run from the keyboard in a terminal (including over
SSH).
It is aimed at Raspberry Pi media players; hardware decoding on the Pi
through Debian's ffmpeg is the goal and is not yet verified on arm64.

Why package it: operators can use Debian-managed packages for video cue
playback and for standalone Mini players, with system libraries and updates
managed by apt. The source builds both the desk and the smaller terminal
player.

Packaging notes:
 - Builds against Debian's SDL 3.4, SDL_ttf and ffmpeg; no bundled
libraries.
 - NDI and Blackmagic DeckLink support need non-free SDKs; their headers are
removed from the repacked source and the features are disabled.
 - I am the upstream author and intend to maintain the package, ideally
within
the Debian Multimedia Team, and I am looking for a sponsor.
 - AI assistance disclosure: upstream development and this packaging were
done with substantial help from AI coding assistants (Claude and Codex).
I review, test and take responsibility for all of it as maintainer.
