Dear release team,

I would like to publish a stable update to the iir1 source package,
using the attached patch.

[ Reason ]
The package in stable suffers from a packaging error which results in
the package’s CMake configuration being useless: this is a library
package, its build includes static libraries, the CMake configuration
does so too, but the static libraries aren’t shipped in the package.
CMake ends up expecting them to be there and fails even for builds
using the shared libraries.

See #1125282 and #1151226 for details.

[ Impact ]
Users can’t build software relying on CMake to find libiir1.

[ Tests ]
I’ve tested the fix manually; it has been applied in testing/unstable
since early 2026.

[ Risks ]
The risk is minimal, the fix enables a build flag which disables
static libraries entirely.

[ Checklist ]
  [x] *all* changes are documented in the d/changelog
  [x] I reviewed all changes and I approve them
  [x] attach debdiff against the package in (old)stable
  [x] the issue is verified as fixed in unstable

[ Changes ]
This adds -DIIR1_INSTALL_STATIC=OFF to the configure stage to disable
static libraries. Those libraries aren’t installed and the shipped
CMake configuration no longer references them.

Regards,

Stephen

On second thought, given the discussion in #1151226, I’d rather ship the
static libraries; the attached patch is the debdiff for this variant. I’ve
uploaded 1.10.0+dfsg-6 to unstable with the equivalent change there.

Stephen
