Notes for reviewers:
I'm the upstream author, so the packaging lives in the upstream repo on
the debian/unstable branch, with upstream tags merged in and built with
gbp. The orig tarball is the plain v5.0.6 tag, no repack needed.
The package is in contrib because it launches Minecraft, which is
non-free and downloaded from Mojang at runtime.
It builds three packages from one Cargo workspace using Debian's crates
(dh-rust):
- portablemc: the CLI. Recommends Java, since it can fall back to
Mojang-provided runtimes. Man pages are generated at build time.
- python3-portablemc: the Python bindings, built with maturin through
pybuild. Upstream embeds the CLI in the Python module; I build it
without it so the CLI only comes from the portablemc package.
- librust-portablemc-dev: the library crate. Nothing depends on it yet,
I'm open to dropping it or moving it to the Rust team if preferred.
Four small Debian-only patches drop unpackaged workspace members and
Windows dependencies, and relax versions to what unstable has (zip,
rustls, pyo3).
Tests run at build time, and autopkgtests cover the crate, the CLI and
the Python bindings. Salsa CI is passing without blhc for now since it
does not understand well rustc.
Regards,
