Hi! While preparing the Python 3.15 migration we realized that some Python packages were shipping broken metadata directories, which leads to errors when trying to import these directories with code running on Python 3.15. To avoid shipping any additional broken directories, dh-python 7.20261019 now throws an error at build-time. Unfortunately, mat2 is one of the affected packages and fails to build with the latest dh-python [1]. Most of these errors can be fixed by being more strict with the files considered for installation. I'll try to submit a patch for this ASAP. Happy hacking, [1]: https://debusine.debian.net/debian/r-python-python3.15/artifact/5118877/
Hi Maximiliano, Thanks for your report -- fails not due to broken metadata directories, but rather due to FAIL: test_all_parametred (tests.test_libmat2.TestCleaning.test_all_parametred) AssertionError: False is not true : got a different value (720000) than excepted [...] which looks similar to https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=993209 https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1021732 https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1148580 ... The autopkgtest via ci.d.n is failing since quite some time as well. Does this make sense? Cheers, Georg

I prepared another patch for that, and I cherry-picked a patch from upstream (attaching them). With these patches the package builds again. Happy hacking,
Hi Maximiliano, Another questions: what's the timeline of this, i.e. how urgent is this? Does this block any transition, and/or your personally in regards to other things? I'm quite busy currently, but could squeeze in an upload to fix this -- OTOH, I wouldn't mind if you do a NMU yourself, if you've got spare cycles. Cheers, Georg
