Dear maintainer:

During a rebuild of all packages in unstable, this package failed to build.

Below you will find the last part of the build log (probably the most
relevant part, but not necessarily). If required, the full build log
is available here:

https://people.debian.org/~sanvila/build-logs/202610/

About the archive rebuild: The build was made on virtual machines from AWS,
using sbuild and a reduced chroot with only build-essential packages.

If you cannot reproduce the bug please contact me privately, as I
am willing to provide ssh access to a virtual machine where the bug is
fully reproducible.

If this is really a bug in one of the build-depends, please use
reassign and add an affects on src:python-cartopy, so that this is still
visible in the BTS web page for this package.

Thanks.
The above exception was the direct cause of the following exception:

ImportError:

IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ THIS FOR ADVICE ON HOW TO SOLVE THIS ISSUE!

Importing the numpy C-extensions failed. This error can happen for
many reasons, often due to issues with your setup or how NumPy was
installed.
The following compiled module files exist, but seem incompatible
with with either python 'cpython-315' or the platform 'linux':

  * _multiarray_umath.cpython-314-x86_64-linux-gnu.so

We have compiled some common reasons and troubleshooting tips at:

https://numpy.org/devdocs/user/troubleshooting-importerror.html

Please note and check the following:

  * The Python version is: Python 3.15 from "/usr/bin/python3.15"
  * The NumPy version is: "2.4.6"

and make sure that they are the versions you expect.

Please carefully study the information and documentation linked above.
This is unlikely to be a NumPy issue but will be caused by a bad install
or environment on your machine.

Original error was: No module named 'numpy._core._multiarray_umath'

The python3.15-add transition has started (#1147081), but the dependency chain of this packages hasn't been rebuilt for it yet.

Kind Regards,

Bas

Ok, do you know if there is some tracker which I can follow to see the
state of the transition, or maybe this one is handled "by hand"
without any tracker?

At this point I'm not sure if I should better stop reporting python
bugs altogether for a few days, or maybe they could still be used to
determine accurately which packages need to be binNMUed.

Thanks.

If I were in your position, I'd wait until the python3.15-add nears completion before bothering the python packages which fail due to 3.15.

Kind Regards,

Bas

That's exactly what I need, thanks a lot!

Yes, I'm going to make a list of packages-expected-to-fail from the page
above and will use it as an exclusion list until the transition ends.

Thanks.
