* Package name : fonts-pretendard-extra Version : 1.3.9 Upstream Author : Kil Hyung-jin <orioncactus@gmail.com> * URL : https://github.com/orioncactus/pretendard * License : SIL Open Font License 1.1 Programming Lang: None (Font) Description : Specialized OTF variants of Pretendard font (Gov, JP, Std) The core 'fonts-pretendard' package is already available in the official Debian archive, but it completely lacks the specialized official subsets/families. This new 'fonts-pretendard-extra' source package fills this gap by introducing the missing OTF variants as separate binary packages. They are currently the only available packages for these variants on Launchpad/Debian ecosystem: - fonts-pretendard-gov (Government/Public service UI standard subset) - fonts-pretendard-jp (Japanese/Hanja-optimized subset) - fonts-pretendard-std (Standard optimized subset) I have successfully built, packaged, and hosted these OTF packages on my Launchpad PPA: https://launchpad.net/~kms0219kms/+archive/ubuntu/fonts I am looking for a Debian Sponsor to review and upload this package into the official archive. Best wishes, Minsu Kim
There was a minor typo in my previous proposal. The package names uploaded to Launchpad are `fonts-pretendard-gov-otf`, `fonts-pretendard-jp-otf`, and `fonts-pretendard-std-otf`. The packages without the `-otf` suffix are in TrueType format rather than OpenType, which is being addressed in a separate bug report (#1151883). Thank you for your understanding.
As you have pointed out, the upstream source is already in the fonts-pretendard source package. Please make the package build your newly requested binary package instead of creating a new source package.
Thank you for the guidance and for reassigning the bug. I completely agree with your approach. Integrating all the variants (TTF structure and specialized subsets like Gov, JP, Std) into the single existing 'fonts-pretendard' source package is a much cleaner way to maintain the archive. I will update my packaging files to generate multiple binary packages (both OTF and TTF variants) from the single 'fonts-pretendard' source package. Once I update the debian/control, rules, and install configurations to build all the requested binary packages smoothly, I will share the updated source package / salsa merge request for your review. Best wishes, Minsu Kim
