* Package name : elements Version : 6.3.7 Upstream Author : Euclid Science Ground Segment / Hubert Degaudenzi et al. * URL : https://github.com/astrorama/Elements * License : LGPL-3+ Programming Lang: C++, Python, CMake Description : C++ base framework for the Euclid software Elements is a C++/Python build framework and base library developed for the Euclid space mission's Science Ground Segment. It provides program scaffolding, logging, configuration and path handling, plus a CMake framework used to build Elements-based projects. It is a build and runtime dependency of Alexandria, which in turn is required by SourceXtractor++ (ITP #1023539). The earlier SourceXtractor++ packaging effort stalled on Elements per Martin Kuemmel; this ITP is the first step in reviving it. Packaging Elements is a bit challenging as it consists of multiple components that should be split into multiple binary packages. The way I broke it down is: an elements-dev package including Elements' numerous CMake modules, two runtime C++ libraries, libelementskernel6 and libelementsservices6, and python3-elements shipping the Python wrappers for the aforementioned runtime libraries. The package will be maintained within the Debian Astronomy Team, at https://salsa.debian.org/debian-astro-team/elements
