The SQLAlchemy persistence backend's alembic migration tree
(taskflow/persistence/backends/sqlalchemy/alembic/ - alembic.ini,
env.py, and the versions/ scripts) is not installed in the binary
package. debian/rules builds with "setup.py install" from the source
tarball, so pbr has no git metadata and only collects Python modules;
the alembic directory has no __init__.py, so it is omitted. This is
version-independent: the same debian/rules pattern in 6.2.0-2 drops it
too.
As a result, "alembic upgrade" on a SQL persistence backend fails with
"No config file 'alembic.ini' found". This is reachable by any consumer
that upgrades the taskflow SQL persistence schema, for example
OpenStack Masakari's "masakari-manage db sync".
Fix: install the alembic directory into the package install tree after
"setup.py install", for example in override_dh_auto_install:
cp -r taskflow/persistence/backends/sqlalchemy/alembic \
$(CURDIR)/debian/tmp/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/taskflow/persistence/backends/sqlalchemy/
