I am filing this bug to announce my intent to request removal of
s3backer from Debian. s3backer was removed from Debain Testing in
December 2025 because it depends on the old fuse. That month, the RC
bug pointed to the upstream commit that fixed this issue and the new
upstream version that contains that commit. There was no response from
the package maintainer who appears to have not been active in Debian
since that time.
