When doing an interactive restore with xfsrestore, the 'ls' command doesn't
have any way to limit the output produced into pages, or to list particular
subsets of a directory. I've got a directory that has hundreds of files,
for which I'm trying to see the names of a few to restore. ls causes the
list to scroll off the screen (I'm at the console, so don't have any handy
xterm scrollbars), and there's no way to partially list the files.

Can we have some kind of paging for the output and/or an 'ls xyz*' feature?

Thanks,
Theo

hi Theo,

I've sent a note on to the xfsdump/xfsrestore developers describing
your request. They're a bit busy at the moment but will look into
this when they next get the chance. These sound like perfectly
reasonable features to expect from xfsrestore to me, so I expect
they will eventually get onto them.

thanks.

Branden,

I don't think this bug was the one you intended to retitle -
could you please correct it?

thanks.
