I would like an option to disable the wmaker icons.
I like the dock, I like the window manager, but I don't want the icons.
They take space off my desktop and Gnome already does that. I don't need
them
This should be probably forwarded to upstream.

The only option right now is to suppress the icons for each individual
program ('No application icon' option).
It is not practical.

Do you mean the appicons? You can open the property
inspector for a random app, select "Window Specification"
from the uppermost menu and then select "no application
icon" from "application specific". Doesn't that work? If
this is about the miniwindows, you can disable them from
WPrefs, from the Expert User Preferences item, "disable
 miniwindows".

Yes but you have to do it for every single application. I don't want any
appicon :)
I want to disable them all. My gnome panels already have the same
functionality and the appicons take space for nothing.

... and select "Defaults for all windows". I seem to
 remember that works...

It works, but it also disables dockapps, which is not the desired behaviour.

Hi,

there is a Debian bug about a possible option to disable icons [1]
---8<--- I would like an option to disable the wmaker icons. I like the dock, I like the window manager, but I don't want the icons. They take space off my desktop and Gnome already does that. I don't need them This should be probably forwarded to upstream. The only option right now is to suppress the icons for each individual program ('No application icon' option). It is not practical. ---8<--- If the user disable the app icon with "No application icon", the appicon is disabled too, but this is not the desired behaviour. Is possible to do that with the current wmaker version (this bug has 11 years...)? I mean disable all application icons. What happens if you set No application icon as a default for all windows?
(In the window Attributes inspector set Window Specification to Defaults
for all windows and in the Application Specific page set No application
icon.) Not sure if this works or does what you want but may worth a try.

Hi,

wmaker has the option "Disable miniwindows" in the WPrefs expert user preferences tab. This flag solves this issue?

Thanks a lot,
Best regards,
