The enclosed script requires "libhtml-mason-perl", and is tested with
Debian version 1:1.15-1. It will generate an xhtml hypertext RFC
index from the "rfc-index.txt.gz" file. I would like that hypertext
index included with the doc-rfc package, and for a "doc-base"
registration file to be created that uses this xhtml index as the
toplevel document for all of the RFC's.
"libhtml-mason-perl" is NOT needed once the index is generated.
I've noticed that Galeon and Mozilla are a little slow to render this
huge index page. I suggest that the doc-base file's long description
contain a note about this, and that it should suggest using
"Ctrl-Click" when accessing RFC's to have the browser open the RFC in
a separate tab. Also it should mention that dragging the RFC title to
the bookmarks will create a bookmark to the RFC with RFC number and
title as the bookmark title. No doc-base registration is A BUG! (TIA)
The CVS password for this is the empty string (just press enter when
you CVS login). The tar file contains a live checkout; you should be
able to see if I've done any more work on it since sending this.
(Though I'm pretty sure it's done.) Let me know if you have access
problems.
