Greetings,

Having just upgraded from 1.0.5 in woody, I'm very disappointed to see
that 1.4.5 does not preserve its old behavior of saving the thread state
of messages within folders. That is, if a folder is threaded, and I
close a thread, the closed state of the thread only persists until I
quit; when I start again, the thread is open again.

I think this might have something to do with the config/et-expanded-file
files, whose double-underscore versions are (old and) full of node
references but whose single-underscore versions are empty (just two
lines). My guess is that the double-underscore ones were created by
1.0.5, and single-underscore by 1.4.5. When I close threads and quit,
these single-underscore files are overwritten to include lists of node
ids, but when I start again, those lists disappear.

There's obviously a bug somewhere in here...

Thanks,

This seems to be fixed in evolution 2.0.

Oops, sorry, spoke too soon. Yes, evolution does preserve thread state
across quit/restart, but not across a search. For example, close a
bunch of threads in a folder, search the folder for a string, and clear
the search, the threads are open again.

Cheers,
Adam

This still doesn't work in 2.6.3, see my last post to the bug for a test
which it fails.

If you believe it's fixed, please provide an explanation.
