Hi,

It would be nice to have a more predictable method for seeking.

As it is now, clicking on the empty spaces of the stream position control causes the position to jump an arbitrary number of seconds, depending on the stream's length. On the other hand, using the arrow keys causes a 5 seconds jump, but only if the control has focus. This makes playing the bass while trying to seek back on a stream a pain ;-)

I suggest the arrow keys are globaly bound (that is, for all controls) to the position seek actions. Also it would be quite useful if the position control is modified in such a way that clicking on the empty spaces makes a constant jump, maybe 5 seconds, too, but could be a bit longer.

     Hi,

Javier Kohen <jkohen@users.sourceforge.net> - Thu, Mar 18, 2004:

I think some people have already requested better keybindings for
seeking upstreams, I've bound the Debian and GNOME bugs.

Hello,

this is possibly a bug, on other distribution it works, please see:
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/rhythmbox/-/issues/1951#note_1379085

and possibly mark it as such for research/fixing. This annoyance happen
to me on 3.4.4 Debian 11 with latest Plasma.

In the meantime this bug is unfixed,
Workaround except mouse drag/drop the seek button is to use mouse wheel.
It moves the seek button pretty fast.
