The status of the "--quiet" switch ($verbose) ought to be passed to
the "adduser.local" hook in the environment.

Overall, I think that the adduser thing ought to be worked on and
improved quite a lot.  It should support LDAP, removing users from
groups, and ought to be split into front and backends so that GUI's
can take advantage of it also.

This is #240103 and #156013, which is fixed.

Tagging the bug appropriately. If you want this function to be in
adduser, please submit a patch after reading the discussions in the
other bug reports and on debian-devel which have shown voices that say
that adduser shouldn't mess with ldap.
