Sorry; putting this into practice will probably mean a major rewrite,
but I am really missing this, so here it goes...
Basically, I`d like wdm to behave similar to the loginscreen of a
Solaris workstation. There, the "Options" menu contains an entry "Remote
login", that leads to the Sub-menues "Enter hostname manually" and
"Choose host from list". If the latter is chosen, the user is presented
a list of all broadcasting machines, and clicking there (as well as
manually entering the hostname) opens the display manager of the remote
host.
This (remote-host) display manager in turn has an "Options" menu with an
entry "Return to local host" that comfortably brings one back to the
local login screen.
If something like this could be done with acceptable effort, I really
would like to see it (and I will gladly spend a pizza to the first one
who implements this :-)
