Hello.

I understand why Synaptic changes the UI theme (and fonts, and so on) to
the root's settings, but it would be very nice if the UI could stay with
the user's settings, while the program would work as root only for the
filesystem access.

I'm aware that this is probably be a lot of work - it's just a wish.
<tease>gnome-system-tools somehow manage to do this...</tease> ;o)

Thanks for your bugreport.

We have this as long-term goal. But with the design I have in my head
right now it requires some big changes in the internal structure of
synaptic. But I'll have a look how gnome-system-tools does it and see
if I can learn from them :)
