I'm sorry but no. vfs packges doesn't remove schemas files in /etc/gconf
Please read again my bug report and the subject of this e-mail (schemas
files in /etc/gconf/schemas should be removed)

And here comes the close/reopen fight specialist...

So what? These files are not removed by dpkg, because there can be local
modifications that should still be available to the administrator. This
is not a problem with gnomeVFS or GConf; things are like this for every
Debian package.

You are probably not the right person to say things like this.

For the case we're talking about, there is no bug in
libgnomevfs2-common, full stop. If you want to see a change in the
behavior of dpkg, please bring this to the -devel or -policy lists.

LOL. Another one ?

No, this bug has nothing to do with policy or dpkg

May be you need to learn how md5sum works ? Then collect the md5sum
for schemas files in /etc/gconf/schemas for each packages and then check
if these file are changed or not and remove files who have the same md5sum.

It is too hard ?

Have you ever read the mail you're replying too? This is a case for
dpkg, and it was even already reported twice. Did it need all of these
duplicate bug reports?
