I don't know if the "bug" is related to sound-juicer or gstreamer0.8-cdparanoia, but since it could be an option missing in sound-juicer to configure the degree of paranoia, which usually has an impact on the ripping duration... So, when I rip a CD, it takes between a half or a third of the CD duration to do it, while when I use cdda2ogg (with MP_OPTIONS=-q6), it takes less than a seventh. Roughly, cdda2ogg seems at least 3 times quicker than Sound Juicer to rip a CD. Mike
retitle 277321 Add an option for paranoia level in GUI. severity 277321 wishlist thanks My mistake, I should have checked deeper first. Actually, there's a key in gconf (/apps/sound-juicer/paranoia), which is at 4 by default, and that by putting to 0 (disabling paranoia), has the same speed than cdda2ogg. Moreover cdda2ogg passes the option -P0 to cdda2wav, thus disabling paranoia. I'd then reformulate the bug and downgrade severity to wishlist to have an option in the configuration to configure paranoia. Mike
