Xplot has options to do a line plot, and a line plot with circles or squares.
Why not just circles or squares?
Sometimes the ordering of data doesn't matter, so the lines are just
distracting chartjunk.

Upstream has abandoned this software several years ago so
this wishlist bug will probably never be fixed.
