And it uses /tmp/XXXXnQSOak/L7862-758TMP.txt
Seems so silly to use a tmp file, when the original is right there on
the disk.

I'm aware of this; improving it is on my to-do list after ongoing bug-reports
and the improved locale support (UTF-8, etc.).  Patches are always welcome.
