tags 298789 -patch thanks With the reorganization of /etc/pam.d/common-* into auto-managed files, this patch no longer applies. I don't think pam-auth-update supports comments in field values; I would consider a patch that implements such support, though this would need to be done carefully so that it doesn't increase the risk of merge conflicts.
