spacebar pauses totem in fullscreen mode, but does not in windowed mode.
for consistancy purposes, spacebar should really perform the same in
both modes.

Hi,

I forwarded your bug report to the upstream author, who marked it
NOTABUG with the following explanation:

"This has been explained numerous times. The space bar is used to
activate widgets, so for accessibility reasons, we can't do that in
windowed mode."
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=370732

Thus I will mark it as wontfix.

The reason I brought this issue up is because users get confused by
things that are inconsistent.

The solution is not that spacebar has to pause in both windowed and
fullscreen, but instead should not do anything in both situations.
Besides, the menus all say that P is how the user should play/pause
their movie.

I see, but I still think it would be best if you discussed this issue
with the upstream developer.

does it make sense for this bug to be marked both wontfix and
fixed-upstream? aren't those tags sort of contradictory? which one
is right? i got the impression that the upstream decision was
wontfix.

tags 382106 - fixed-upstream
stop

The fixed-upstream tag was added by bts-link; I told the author that I
would prefer only setting "wontfix" when the upstream resolution is
REJECTED, NOTABUG, or WONTFIX, but he thinks fixed-upstream is the only
sane thing to do in the tool. But yeah, removing the fixed-upstream
tags makes more sense, and bts-link wont set it again.
