#384583 lists.debian.org: Please require a Reply-To in cross-posted messages

It is often good to start a discussion by informing several mailing
lists at once. For example, a GR proposal might be cross-posted to
-vote, -project, and -devel. However, having the actual discussion be
cross-posted as well rarely works well. Many people will get the
messages multiple times. Others will (by mistake, if nothing else) reply
only in one list, meaning that the discussion splinters into independent
threads.

It would therefore seem a good idea to have a ban on cross-posted
messages that don't contain a Reply-To pointing at one list (at the
most) on lists.debian.org.

I'd like to second that.

Even though all Debian lists end up in the same folder here, having
all messages in the GR threads duplicated is annoying. Imho Lars'
proposal is the most sane way to get rid of cross-posted threads.
