Hello,

I think you didn't wait long enough, alsa's build is quite long, and
indeed, due to a bug (not investigated yet), the build log isn't all
displayed, which led you to think it's a crash. If you actually have a
look at the build log (e.g. with:
tail -f /var/cache/modass/alsa-source.buildlog*), you'll see the build
process move on and on, but slowly.

I'm retitling the bug accordingly.
