Since the recent update of packages.debian.org (I think),
searching for parts of paths doesn't work anymore at
"http://www.debian.org/distrib/packages#search_contents".

In the past, when I was looking for an executable whose name
starts with "fi", I used to enter "bin/fi" and choose
"packages that contain files whose names contain the keyword",
which would give me results such as "/usr/bin/file" as well as
"/sbin/findfs".

When doing the same now, I'm getting a "Sorry, your search
gave no results".

Can this be reverted to the old behaviour? Thanks!

Cheers, Marcus

Hi!

I think that this bug has been fixed ages ago. At least, it has been
working for me for ages. However, recently it stopped working for the
"unstable" and "experimental" distributions.

For example, using content search, enter "bin/ls" and choose "paths
ending with the keyword". This should obviously have results in all
distributions. However, it does not give results for "unstable" and
"experimental". Maybe the index (generation) is broken?

Cheers,
Paul

I confirm that that the packages.debian.org "Search for parts of paths"
feature seems to be broken for "unstable", while it seems to work
correctly for "stable" and "testing".

Can someone look into this and fix the issue, please?

Thanks for your time!
Bye.

Hi,

Example, let's search for /usr/bin/watch

Notice the missing *h* of watch
NOK: http://packages.debian.org/search?searchon=contents&keywords=bin%2Fwatc
NOK: http://packages.debian.org/search?mode=filename&searchon=contents&keywords=bin%2Fwatc
NOK: http://packages.debian.org/search?mode=exactfilename&searchon=contents&keywords=bin%2Fwatc

OK: http://packages.debian.org/search?searchon=contents&keywords=bin%2Fwatch
NOK: http://packages.debian.org/search?mode=filename&searchon=contents&keywords=bin%2Fwatch
OK: http://packages.debian.org/search?mode=exactfilename&searchon=contents&keywords=bin%2Fwatch

PS: all previous mails other than the initial report are completely
unrelated, ignore them.
