evince saves the window position and size information on exit and
insists on restoring it when it's started again, overriding any
hints from the window manager. I think this is the window manager's
job and I should at least be able to turn it off.

As a side effect, evince fails to open on the proper head (the one
with the mouse pointer) in a multihead environment.

I have forwarded your request upstream, and they closed it as WONTFIX;
the spatial behavior is a feature - and well, I find it useful when I
deal with a lot of documents.

Cheers,

A window manager is called window manager because it manages
windows.

Anyway, thanks for trying. I'll purge evince then.
