Subsonic is a web-based media streamer similar to Ampache or SlimServer.
It streams your music over HTTP while you add songs from your collection

The subsonic project has been closed sourced, and a free software fork
is now named libresonic.  It is available from <URL: http://libresonic.org >.

There is also a later WNPP request for the same package in
<URL: https://bugs.debian.org/592440 >, but I thought it was best to
pick the original. :)

and the new thing seems to be https://github.com/airsonic-advanced/airsonic-advanced
