#485526 kdemultimedia: kio_audiocd / kscd : refreshing media/storage view stops audio cd playing

An audio CD is playing in drive...

If you refresh the media/storage view in Konqueror then the CD stops
playing. If a storage device is added to the system (usb for example),
the same "stop" occurs.

This is (seemingly) related to this bug in KDE:

Removing references to upstream and kio-audiocd since I get the bug without
kio-audiocd installed, and I don’t get the error message mentioned in the
upstream bug.
Besides the bug has been abandoned upstream, not fixed.

Hi there,

unfortunately this bug was never fixed and I can still be reproduce it on
current Debian 10 (buster) stable more than 10 years later. How about
stability. :-)

I’m reassigning to kscd since it only manifests with it an other media players
like dragon player or VLC work fine.

As for the fix itself, I’m not sure it’s ever going to happen since upstream
development of kscd has pretty much stopped and it has been removed from
current testing (bullseye).
So I guess I’ll leave the bug open until buster becomes unsupported.

Happy hacking !
