I'd expect K3B to be placed in "Accessories", however it is placed in
"Sound & Video" (in GNOME, that is). To me, this doesn't make much sense.
I mostly use K3B for copying data files to CD/DVD media, a task which is not
at all related to Audio or Video.
Of course I could also use K3B to write Audio CD or Video DVD. But IMHO,
"Accessories" would be more appropriate. Or maybe even "Office".

In the german it is even worse, because the "Sound & Video" menu is called
"Unterhaltungsmedien", which literally is "Entertainment Media".

Some time ago you filed a report in the Debian bug tracking system against the k3b package, http://bugs.debian.org/k3b

Upstream have now declared a major milestone and released K3b version 2.0, which has now been uploaded to Debian unstable.

We have a fairly large backlog on bugs reported against K3b and require your assistance.

Could I ask you to install the K3b package from unstable and verify that your report is still valid with version 2.0.

The desktop file follows freedesktop menu specification:
- additional category -> DiscBurning
- related category -> AudioVideo

All burning applications use the same menu category.
If you want the category changed, you should push it on freedesktop.org.

Indeed.
Maybe k3b should still consider itself to also belong to

Additional category -> Archiving
Related category -> Utility

There is just more you can do with k3b than Audio CDs.
